East Long Beach’s Luna unveils brunch menu, open daily at 9AM

Luna Bistro & Cafe—the East Long Beach Mexican-American space that has been warmly welcomed in a neighborhood largely dominated by corporate food—has unveiled its first brunch menu.

Giving its relatively new (and rather great) patio space more of an excuse to be used, the menu reflects everything Luna does well: fusing Mexican and American flavors. Chilaquiles stacks—where whole, fried tostadas are stuffed with layers of beans, cheese, and the space’s much-loved Michoaćan-style carnitas—drenched in salsa verde and topped with fried eggs. A play on steak and eggs meshing with steak and frites. Breakfast tacos. Chorizo eggs Benedict…

It’s everything the neighborhood has grown to love about Luna in a space where, after losing the nearby Local Spot, decent, non-chain brunches are hard to come by.

Luna and its brunch aren’t just a rarity within East Long Beach. With new hours, it’s a rarity citywide.
