HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Students around the county are out of school for the summer, but education officials warn that a lack of learning during the break can lead to the “summer slide.”
The summer slide is a phenomenon where school-age children go on summer break and stop learning. When they return to school in the fall, they can fall behind, forgetting what they learned in the previous school year.
