HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The final residents have been moved out of the Huntsville Summit apartments, and crews will soon start tearing the building down and replacing it with a facility for local seniors.
The building has stood at the corner of Walker Avenue and Meridian Street since 1978. For years, it has been impacted by fires, issues with electricity, AC and other problems inside the building.
Area seniors and disabled adults will have a newer building for affordable housing in the future. The non-profit Neighborhood Concepts owns the building now through a partnership with the city.
