HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The 14th Street SW bridge overpass at I-565 is structurally sound following a dramatic semi-truck crash on Monday afternoon, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.
ALDOT inspectors rushed to the scene on Interstate 565 just east of the Jordan Lane interchange immediately following the wreck. A thorough evaluation of the overpass support structure revealed only minor cosmetic damage and no structural problems, allowing officials to fully restore the regular flow of traffic by Tuesday.
The inspection follows a terrifying incident caught on a trailing vehicle’s dashboard camera and obtained by FOX 54.
