I-65 back open in Morgan County after overnight bridge repairs near Lacon

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala — Interstate 65 in Morgan County is open and moving normally after ALDOT crews worked through the night to repair the deck of the northbound bridge over the CSX railroad near Lacon.

The Alabama Department of Transportation had closed I-65 northbound at Exit 318 beginning around 6 p.m. Tuesday to complete the deck repairs. Because crews could only work during gaps in rail traffic, the duration of the closure depended on available rail windows. The road reopened Wednesday morning.
