Drivers asked to avoid stretch of Wall Triana Hwy due to road collapse, full closure expected

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Drivers in Madison County are being asked to avoid Wall Triana Highway just south of Yarbrough Road after officials discovered a collapsing roadway over a culvert in the area.

Madison County Commissioner Phil Vandiver said that crews removed asphalt and filled the hole with gravel on Wednesday. According to Vandiver, the area will not be smooth.

Vandiver said that officials will have to completely close Wall Triana Highway from Yarbrough Road to Nick Davis Road on Thursday or Friday to remove an old culvert and replace it with a new one…
