A Madison, Alabama, company will supply the U.S. Army with the latest version of one of its drones.
The Pentagon said in a Wednesday notice that it will pay Griffon Aerospace Inc. $68 million for the Outlaw Gen 3 in support of Operation Epic Fury, the name of the military campaign against Iran launched on Feb. 28. A ceasefire in that war was announced in April.
Outlaw Gen 3’s specifications is not publicly available, but the company describes the previous Gen 2 as a low-cost and reliable drone used for target practice or for carrying things, while the Gen 2E version adds surveillance capability…
