Michelda Johnson is a Huntsville native with deep roots in the community. Before stepping into health care, she built a name as an entrepreneur. But says a global tragedy changed her path.

“I owned Edible Arrangements at the time, and I wanted to go and be a part of the relief effort,” said Johnson. “I had done some relief efforts for New Orleans when Katrina had happened, and I wanted to go to Haiti and was told that I could not because you could only be medical personnel. I already had a bachelor’s degree in management and business, and I decided to go back to school. So, I went back to UAH full-time while I still owned the franchises and got my nursing degree from UAH.”…
