Toyota’s Alabama Plant Has Built 11 Million Engines In 25 Years

Take Toyota, for example: across the United States, it has over 14 manufacturing facilities, each responsible for building a specific car part. One very important assembly plant is celebrating a major milestone.

Huntsville, Alabama, is home to one of the brand’s most important assembly plants, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama (TMMAL). This facility is responsible for building engines and other vital powertrain components. 2026 marks the year TMMAL is set to celebrate 25 years in the business of being part of Toyota’s manufacturing arm. It started as a $220 million investment and has expanded into a modern, massive $1.7 billion facility.

Marc Perry, president of Toyota Alabama, says that the decades of growth and success at TMMAL are a testament to its 2,400 committed team members.
