Huntsville woman drives donations to storm-ravaged hometown of Gary, Indiana

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Thousands of residents in Gary and Merrillville, Indiana, remain without power nearly two weeks after severe storms hit the area, and one Huntsville resident is stepping in to help.

Ronni McMillan, a former Gary resident now living in Huntsville, started a donation drive 10 days ago. She collected items including flashlights, battery chargers, food, storage supplies and foldable stoves, then drove the donations to Gary herself, returning to Huntsville this week.
