Madison County School System purchases over 270 acres in Hazel Green, Toney areas

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The Madison County School System said they have approved the purchase of just over 270 acres of land.

The Madison County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a contract for about 272 acres in the Hazel Green and Toney areas.

Jessica Aguirre-Cantrell, Director of Communications at MCSS, said the property was bought from the Bragg family, who have long-standing ties to the community.

“This purchase represents a significant step forward in ensuring Madison County Schools is positioned to meet the needs of our students and staff for generations to come,” MCBOE President David Vess said. “We’re grateful to the Bragg family for their partnership in this process, and we look forward to sharing our vision for this property with the community as planning moves forward.”…
