Brian Martin finishes testimony in sixth day of capital murder trial

COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The sixth day of a capital murder trial for a man charged with killing a police officer in 2021 wrapped up after it started with the suspect once again taking the stand.

The sixth day in the capital murder trial of Brian Martin started much like the fifth day ended before the holiday weekend, with Martin on the stand.

Martin is accused of killing Sheffield Police Sergeant Nick Risner following a chase. Martin is also accused in the death of William Mealback Jr., but that case will be tried separately.
