Harvest man identified, arrested after Athens store robbery

ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) – Police have identified a Harvest man accused of robbing an Athens convenience store and assaulting a clerk earlier this week.

Investigators with the Athens Police Department said 60-year-old Charles Lewis was identified as the suspect in the Sept. 15 armed robbery at Mike’s Food Mart, located at the intersection of Highway 72 and Lindsay Lane.

During the robbery, police said the store clerk was assaulted and taken to a local hospital. The clerk is expected to recover.
