MADISON, Ala. (WAFF) – A crash has forced the closure of Highway 72 in both directions near Nance Road in Madison.
According to police, the collision brought down several power poles and lines across the roadway.
Officers have shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 72 while emergency crews work to clear the downed lines. Authorities have not yet stated how long the closure will last, but drivers are urged to avoid the area for at least the next hour and seek alternate routes.
