The Huntsville City Council approved Mayor Tommy Battle’s proposed more than $360 million Fiscal 2027 budget at its meeting on Thursday.
“I applaud the council for their work and shared vision for what is best both for our residents and our employees,” Battle said. “We always strive to keep residents foremost in our minds as we make funding decisions. Because of the collaboration between council members, the administration and our department heads, this budget provides a conscientious road map for the upcoming year.”
The Huntsville Police Department and Fire and Rescue account for $160.2 million of the budget. The Police Department would receive $88.8 million in the upcoming fiscal year, an increase of 9.38% over the previous year…
