Country Music Star Provides Hope for Homeless

Steven Cade, a Nashville-based performer, decided in October of 2021 to travel to homeless shelters across the country and raise money and awareness.

According to WHNT News 19 , Cade has a mission of providing hope to people who have fallen on hard times.  His tour named “Giving Guitars Tour” spreads joy by taking people’s minds off their troubles while providing comfort.

On Friday, January 19, Cade performed for the homeless at Hands Across Decatur in Decatur, Ala. For people who could use a change in their lives, the performance was a “wonderful distraction”.

Cade reflected on his mission, “We are about helping others to help others and music is very powerful.”

He knows that there is power in music that can lift people and even change their mindset.

“We just want to make sure we send a message out there of hope by using the gift of guitars.  We’re just excited to be here at Hands Across Decatur,” Cade said.

Cade heard about Sue Terrell and her efforts in Decatur to help the growing homelessness within the county.  Terrell was faced with very limited funds coming from her own pocket and the few generous people who would donate.  Terrell was very thankful Cade came to help.
