1 arrested, firefighter assaulted in Moores Mill

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A member of the Moores Mill Volunteer Fire and Rescue (MMVFR) was assaulted at the station on Sunday.

According to a spokesperson with MMVFR, several personnel members were at MMVFR Station 1 giving a tour to a prospective member while children and other adults were also nearby. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says that a local county fire official was administering aid to a patient who was later found to have narcotics.

According to deputies, the patient’s combative behavior led to an arrest.

MMVFR says that they contacted the Huntsville Police Department around 1:11 p.m. MCSO also assisted during the incident.

According to MMVFR, the crew member who was assaulted is in good health. The type of injury for the member is unknown at this time.
