USPS on Wynn Drive hoping to resume retail operations as soon as possible

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The United States Postal Service (USPS) says it has temporarily suspended transactions at the counter at its Wynn Drive location because of an inoperable metal roll panel securing the retail area.

A spokesperson for the Alabama-Mississippi USPS District told News 19 that Huntsville’s Wynn Drive Station, located at 645 Wynn Drive, is a leased facility.

Previously, the postal service said they were working closely with the landlord to repair the panel. But as of 2:56 p.m. on Monday, USPS said it had taken over repairs from the landlord and was installing a temporary wall so they could resume retail operations at the counter as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the postal management team is in the lobby directing customers to the Self-Service Kiosk for retail transactions. A sign is up notifying customers that they can go to the blue door for package and/or hold mail pickup.

USPS said post office boxes temporarily are available during regular business hours Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
