HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – This year, Christmas Charities Year Round (CCYR), a nonprofit serving people in need in Madison County, is celebrating 75 years of service.
“We have a clothing closet at our facility by appointment. We also have a mobile closet that goes to the schools,” executive director Beth Haynes explained. “We provide free, durable medical equipment to those in need, and we also do assistance with toys for children and gifts for seniors at Christmas time.”

The clothing closet is available to anyone in Madison County who lives below the local median household income, which is $71,000.
“You call us and make an appointment, and adults can come every six months and kids can them every three months to get clothes,” Haynes said. “Our mobile closet goes to Madison County and Huntsville City Schools, and we work with a guidance counselor to set those up.”
Beginning Friday, January 26 , First Stop, Inc. partnered with CCYR to bring clothing to those struggling with homelessness at no cost.
