Huntsville Animal Services is encouraging the public to consider adopting their animals as Valentine’s Day approaches. The shelter is showcasing these animals on their Facebook page, along with detailed profiles. To promote adoptions, most adult animal fees are waived until February ends. Interim Director Virgie Graham stated that this initiative provides a great chance for community members to welcome new pets into their homes.

The shelter has a variety of animals available for adoption, from small cats to large dogs. For those not ready to adopt, Huntsville Animal Services offers fostering and sleepover options. This gives potential adopters the opportunity to understand the animals’ needs before making a decision.

Every pet adopted from the shelter is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated before leaving. This ensures the animals are healthy and prepared for their new homes. Pets also receive a three-month supply of flea and tick preventative treatment for their health.

Adopted animals come with a City license and a complimentary bag of pet food, subject to availability. This helps new pet owners get started. Information about the available animals, including photos, ages, and descriptions, can be found on the shelter’s website.
