ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) — The Limestone County Coroner says that one person has been killed after a crash took place on Saturday night.
According to the coroner, a two-car crash took place on US Highway 72 E near Line Road past 306 BBQ in Athens. Two people were also transported to the Athens-Limestone Hospital by Athens-Limestone Ambulance and Athens Fire & Rescue.

The coroner says that the call regarding the crash came in around 8:20 p.m.
Athens Police Department (APD) says that a vehicle was driving westbound along US 72, crossed a grassy median, and struck an oncoming car driving eastbound along US 72.
