(WHNT) — This Valentine’s Day, News 19 and IHeart Radio are asking you to spread the love by giving blood at our Valentine’s Blood Drive!
We’ll have two LifeSouth donation buses parked in front of the station, located at 200 Holmes Avenue Northwest, and our friends from iHeart will be here too! The drive starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
We are asking the community to donate a pint of blood.
LifeSouth rewards donors, so everyone who successfully donates will get a $25 e-gift card and event t-shirt.
You must be 17 years old, or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health to donate blood. A photo ID is also needed.
Almost everyone is eligible to donate, even in the following circumstances:
When you arrive, you’ll be asked to present your photo ID, answer some questions about your health and undergo a mini-physical. The average donation time for whole blood is 10 minutes.
Post donation, you’ll sit and relax for at least 10 minutes and be asked to avoid strenuous physical activity or heavy lifting for a few hours.
