DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – Just days from the first anniversary of Steve Perkins’ death in Decatur, a community gathered together. Like they have been, faithfully since Perkins was shot and killed by Decatur Police on September 29, 2023, it did not take much for Civil Rights Attorney Lee Merritt to sign on after hearing the circumstances and the outpouring of support.
