Sports radio hosts talks Bama landing in No. 1 for the first time in two years

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — After Coach Nick Saban announced his retirement last season, Alabama fans have held their breath for the future within the Kalen DeBoer era.

“We had a lot of people call our show when he was hired as head coach and said, you know what? I don’t know if they got the right guy,” said Scott Theisen.

Despite this, Saturday’s win against the Georgia Bulldogs proved DeBoer has what it takes to lead this legendary name in football.

“So, all of a sudden he goes out there and he beats Georgia, and now it’s like, ‘Oh wait a minute,” Theisen said. Now, they’re calling into the show and they’re saying, ‘Oh, this is great.’”

Scott Theisen is a co-host of Huntsville’s Talkin’ Ball Radio Show.

Theisen thinks the recent win sets the standard for DeBoer’s coaching as he takes Alabama to the number-one spot for the first time in two years.
