was asked to perform the 1985 hit, and to say he knocked it out of the park is an understatement. Cody Johnson laid down pure country gold when performing this cover. Dillon and Hank Cochran wrote the song, which came about after a long night of songwriting. The two were ready to call it quits when Dillon strummed his guitar, saying, “Excuse me, but I think you’ve got my chair.” The rest is history, as 20 minutes later, they had a song that would be a number-one hit and the lead single from Strait’s album
