Huntsville artist creates 9-foot sculpture of Martin Luther King Jr. for exhibit in Florida

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) – After being selected from thousands of applicants, one local artist has diligently crafted a 9-foot sculpture of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Andrew Luy has spent the past six months building this sculpture, and now the it is set to head to Florida, where a mold will be made of the clay statue, then cast in bronze. Once fully completed, it will go to its new home in Winter Park, Florida, at the upcoming “The Ripple” exhibit, which will officially open next year.
