Man accused of scamming victim out of money in Ohio arrested

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A man accused of scamming money from a person in Ohio has been arrested.

Huntsville Police said that Curtis Dee Carter was stopped by Huntsville Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team when officers found evidence in his vehicle that gave them suspicion that he may be scamming people out of money.

HPD told News 19 that investigators were able to find a victim in Ohio that was being scammed by Carter.

Carter was located and arrested on Friday on a warrant from an investigation by the Huntsville Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit.

He was charged with theft by deception 1st -swindle (Greater that $2,500).

Carter was booked into the Madison County Jail and was issued a $25,000 bond.
