POLICE: Huntsville woman arrested after man injured in shooting

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Huntsville Police Department said that a woman was arrested after an argument led to a shooting on Sunday.

HPD said that officers were dispatched to possible domestic in progress in the 4800 block of Pine Brook Court around 2:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound.

Huntsville Police said that officers also found Teresa Schuler, 63, of Huntsville, inside the home and detained her during the investigation.

Upon further investigation, officers learned that the couple was involved in an argument when the male victim barricaded himself inside a bedroom.

According to authorities, Schuler used a firearm to shoot through the door, hitting the man.

HPD said that the man was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is expected to survive.

Schuler was arrested and charged with domestic violence-2nd aggravated assault-family-gun. She was booked into the Madison County Jail and was issued a $5,000 bond.
