“We are blessed being a part of the community and we appreciate all of the support we’ve been getting,” said co-owner Thomas Quijada. “I was born in New York, but my blood is Latino, and I am proud of it.”

On this New Year’s Eve, Quijada co-owners Alexis Salazar and the staff are sharing their Latin traditions for a new year.

Along with handing out tamales and hot fruit punch, they are also serving grapes for special wishes.

“You get 12 grapes at midnight and each grape represents a wish for the upcoming years months,” Quijada explained. “So, it’s 12 months and 12 grapes and you make one wish for each month of the year of the new year,” Quijada explained.
