2 adults displaced after New Year’s Day fire in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Two adults have been displaced after a fire on Wednesday morning, according to Huntsville Fire and Rescue.

A spokesman with HFR told News 19 that units responded to the home on Essex Drive SW around 9:50 a.m. New Year’s Day.

Nine trucks were at the scene, and HFR said one firefighter was taken to UAB to be treated for burns. His injuries are non-life-threatening.

HFR said the fire was ruled accidental and was possibly started by a space heater.

Two adults and a dog have been displaced. The Red Cross did not assist.
