HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – For today, mostly cloudy with a few spotty rain showers throughout the day. Temps will rise into the 40s this afternoon. A 48 First Alert Weather Day for the combination of heavy rainfall and strong winds tonight. After 5 P.M., rain will begin to move west to east across the Tennessee Valley and cross the Georgia state line around midnight. Wind gusts of 35-40 MPH are possible. Isolated power outages. A Wind Advisory issued for the area beginning at 3 P.M. and will continue through 3 P.M. Monday. After the rain ends, the temps drop. Temps will have warmed to around 60 degrees during the evening when the rain and winds will be heaviest and strongest, dropping into the low 30s by morning. This quick drop in temperature could lead to some icy spots during the Monday morning commute. Temps cold enough Monday, flurries throughout the day can be expected. Temps will only be in the 30s. Mainly sunny and dry Tuesday through Thursday. Cold temps, high temperatures in the 30s, overnight low temps around 20 degrees. Friday, cloudy with a combination of rain and snow.
