Madison County leaders continue to work on plan to build new courthouse

Madison County leaders continue to work on a plan to build a new courthouse in downtown Huntsville.

This is something Madison county leaders have been talking about for a long time and they say they are taking concrete steps to finally move the project ahead.

Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon says there are several pressing issues with the current building starting with space. The courthouse needs at least three more courtrooms and extra parking. Plus the building is aging as it was built back in the 1960s, and that’s led to concerns about accessibility and outdated infrastructure.
