Alabama Severe Storm Alert: Tornado, Hail Threat From 4 p.m. Tuesday to Midnight Across TN Valley

Huntsville, Alabama – Severe thunderstorms packing damaging winds, large hail, and a tornado threat are expected to hit the Tennessee Valley late Tuesday afternoon, with the greatest danger unfolding between 4 p.m. and midnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, all of northern Alabama and parts of southern middle Tennessee are under a Level 3 (Enhanced) risk for severe weather from Tuesday into early Wednesday. The storm window runs through midnight, but isolated storms may persist into the overnight hours.

Cities like Decatur, Florence, and Scottsboro should prepare for potentially dangerous conditions. Straight-line winds over 60 mph, isolated tornadoes, and hail the size of quarters or larger could damage homes, down trees, and disrupt power lines.
