HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Monte Sano was one area heavily impacted by last night’s storms, with dozens of trees falling on homes, cars, and power lines.
Three homes were completely destroyed, and residents say the damage happened in just minutes. One of those affected was Cheryl Carlson, who had outbuildings damaged by falling trees.
“Lots of elder trees have been pulled right out of the ground, tipped over, the root balls exposed,” Carlson said. “Some have been snapped off, and there’s some houses that have been really damaged. I know our guest house and our greenhouse are damaged, and our shed here is damaged as well. But we feel very lucky because nothing fell on our house.”…
