ATHENS, Ala. — An Athens church on a list of “closed” houses of worship tells FOX54 it is “alive, well, and thriving” as an independent congregation.
On Friday, the Northern Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church voted to close 20 churches in its jurisdiction, including Isom’s Chapel.
