Huntsville public housing residents set to be some of the first residents in $350 million project

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Later this summer, Huntsville residents will start to see the first signs of the city’s new $350 million Mill Creek housing project.

Along with it, a building that’s stood in the city for nearly 6 decades will soon have run its course. Residents inside Johnson Towers have expressed frustration over maintenance problems, elevator troubles, and a lack of hot water.

“You’ll see some site work as we’re finishing up the civil stuff, you’ll see that late summer, and then we’re still on track for the first building rising out of the ground late fall,” Shane Davis, Director of Urban and Economic Development, said…
