Aid available for Madison County farmers with tornado damage

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Alabama has seen 67 confirmed tornadoes in 2025, several causing devastation to farms in Madison County.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and Farm Service Agency have announced that farms in Killingsworth Cove, Gurley, and Moontown can qualify for aid to help them rebuild.

To qualify for aid from the FSA Emergency Conservation Program, farmers and producers must have at least $1,000 worth of damage.

“Eligible applicants include farmers and ranchers who have suffered damage to their farmland due to natural disasters,” a spokesperson for the USDA said. “The damage must significantly impair the land’s agricultural productivity or pose a threat to land or water resources.”…
