Athens man arrested after running from K-9 Unit in Falkville

FALKVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — An Athens man who ran from the Falkville Police K-9 Unit was arrested after a short chase that happened on July 4.

After the short-lived chase ended, officers found the following items during a probable cause search:

  • A quantity of methamphetamine
  • Multiple drug paraphernalia items including, baggies for sale and Glass smoking pipes
  • Over $6,000
  • Two firearms

As a result, Benjamin Stinnett, 30, of Athens, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute and attempting to elude a police officer.

He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and was granted a $12,000 bond by a Morgan County Circuit Judge…
