HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville Fire & Rescue is celebrating the impressive achievements of its personnel who competed in the 2025 World Police & Fire Games, held from June 27 to July 6. With over 8,500 athletes from more than 70 countries participating in 60+ sports, Huntsville’s firefighters and paramedics showcased their dedication and skill, bringing home several medals and awards.
Among the highlights:
- Ice Hockey: Matt Seikel and Chris Elrod teamed up with the LA County Fire Department, earning Silver Medals in Ice Hockey.
- Relays: Jimmy Davis, Calvin Hadden, Brandon Wilson, and Chad Beddingfield competed in multiple relay events, securing several awards.
- Jiu-Jitsu: Kevin Primeau demonstrated his talent in the Jiu-Jitsu competition, adding to Huntsville Fire’s impressive presence at the games.
- Honor Guard: Eric Weatherford, Corey Robinson, Sean Patrick, Michael Mahoney, Wellington Hope, Taylor Fulmer, Richard Keslo, L’Erick Looney, and Erick De La Pena earned first place in their category, showcasing exceptional discipline and teamwork.
- Baseball Team: Huntsville Fire & Rescue’s baseball team, featuring Coach Pat Sanders and a dedicated group of players, exemplified teamwork and pride throughout the tournament.
