LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — 83-year-old Charles Lynn Lewis is in jail in Limestone County, charged with attempted murder in the alleged shooting of his son.
Limestone County deputies responded to a shooting call on Sanderson Lane at about 11:00 am. The call came from a man who said he had been shot by his father. They took Lewis into custody and found him with the weapon believed to have been used in the shooting. Investigators also executed a search warrant.
LCSO says, “Based on physical evidence and witness statements, investigators determined that Lewis had lured the victim to the scene due to an ongoing personal dispute. Upon arrival, Lewis reportedly told the victim he intended to kill him before producing a handgun. As the victim attempted to flee, Lewis fired two shots, striking the victim once in the back.”…
