Limestone County addressing challenges from continuous population growth

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Limestone County holds the title of the fastest-growing county in Alabama for four consecutive years. But growth brings along challenges.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau data, the county’s population has grown by nearly 15% since 2020. County commissioners said the increase in people calls for improvements across the area, from roads to county services. They said the funding is now there to start tackling some of those issues.

“When you grow fast like we’ve grown, you know, a lot of those abatements and things like that that have been done over the years are just now kind of starting to come back full circle to where you can start back and invest in your community,” Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly said.
