Bear sightings in Decatur prompt police warning to residents

ATHENS, Ala. — A black bear was seen in a tree and also spotted rummaging through trash in Morgan County on Tuesday morning.

Decatur police say officers and a state game warden responded after someone reported a bear. Mud Tavern Volunteer Fire & Rescue said a bear was also seen digging through garbage cans in their area
