Huntsville woman recalls her first concert – ‘the infamous and legendary’ Ozzy Osbourne at VBC

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) —  There’s something unforgettable about your first concert – the energy, the chaos, the feeling that you’ve crossed into a world both thrilling and unfamiliar.

For Lara Isbell, a Huntsville native, that moment came in February 1983, when she was with her friend Lynne Ellett at the Von Braun Center. After hearing about rock legend and Black Sabbath lead singer Ozzy Osbourne’s death on Tuesday at age 76, she reminisced on those memories.

“I was in junior high, and it was a night that would shape my lifelong love of music,” Isbell says.

Isbell took weeks to convince her parents that the English heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne “was similar to Hall & Oates.”…
