Tennessee Highway Patrol to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints in Lincoln and Giles Counties on August 1

The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) has announced upcoming sobriety checkpoints scheduled for Friday, August 1, 2025, as part of continued efforts to improve roadway safety and prevent impaired driving.

Troopers will conduct the first checkpoint in Lincoln County on State Route 50 near the 15.8-mile marker. A second checkpoint is planned the same day in Giles County on U.S. Highway 31 near the 9.5-mile marker.

These checkpoints are part of THP’s statewide initiative to reduce alcohol- and drug-related crashes by deterring impaired drivers. Drivers passing through these areas can expect to be briefly stopped and checked for signs of intoxication…
