HCMS releases statement following concerns over teacher’s prior child assault arrest

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Hampton Cove Middle School released a statement regarding concerns about a teacher’s prior assault arrest.

Huntsville City Schools Chief Communications Officer Craig Williams said the concerns surround Brandy Taylor. According to court records, Taylor was arrested on Dec. 1, 2017, and charged with third-degree assault in Marshall County.

HCMS’s website says Taylor is a special education teacher and has taught in the area of collaborative education for 24 years.
