Huntsville, AL Weather: Thunderstorms and Heavy Downpours Likely Wednesday Afternoon

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Strong afternoon thunderstorms are likely across much of North Alabama Wednesday, bringing the potential for damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and torrential rainfall. According to the agency, thunderstorm probabilities in Huntsville and surrounding cities such as Madison, Athens, and Decatur climb to 55% by Wednesday afternoon, the highest risk of the week. Localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas, especially where heavy downpours persist.
