HAS says seven 9-week-old puppies left in trashed box outside shelter to be up for adoption

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Animal Services posted on Facebook, saying seven puppies from a litter were left outside the shelter in a box full of trash Monday.

HAS said seven “little lives” were left outside the shelter early this morning. The shelter said the puppies were crammed in a cardboard box that was filled with trash.

“We are grateful they made it here safely, but it is clear they have never known proper care. Their bellies were full of worms, their tiny bodies shook with fear, and their eyes told a story we wish we could know. In just a few hours, though, they have begun to change, with tails wagging and paws bouncing across their kennel in our adoption area as they finally feel safe enough to play,” HAS said.

The shelter said the seven nine-week-old puppies are safe and ready for adoption today! However, HAS said as a reminder, puppies are a lifetime commitment, and said the puppies deserve families who will cherish and treasure them…
