MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A man was booked into the Madison County Jail on Saturday for pretending to be an officer and defrauding over $7,000 through a telephone scam in 2021, the sheriff’s office said.
On September 11, 2021, deputies responded to a report of a phone scam in which the victim said they had been tricked into paying $7,500 by someone posing as law enforcement.

The suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Christopher Andrews, used a “spoofed” line that matched MSCO’s main line and claimed the victim had a failure-to-appear warrant for a federal case.
