Huntsville’s Campus 805 celebrates 10 years of transformation

Campus 805 celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade since the former middle school was transformed into a bustling entertainment hub. This space, which opened in 2015, began with only two tenants but has since evolved into a vibrant community spot.

Shane Davis, the city’s director of urban and economic development, emphasized the transformation’s impact. “What Campus 805 did with this investment has leveraged 300 million dollars of additional private investment to this neighborhood,” Davis said. He highlighted the area, once a food desert, as a renewed destination for living, working, and leisure.

The venue now hosts a variety of businesses, including restaurants, breweries, and entertainment options like laser tag and ballroom dancing. Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle reflected on its past appearance, stating, “2013, 2014, this facility was surrounded by a fence with barbed wire on top of it and it looked like a prison.”…
