Huntsville Museum of Art reopens with free admission and fresh exhibits

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Huntsville Museum of Art will reopen to the public Sunday after a months-long closure for facility improvements, offering free admission during its Betsy and Peter Lowe Community Free Day.

The museum will welcome visitors from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 31, marking the end of a closure that allowed staff to install a new HVAC and humidity regulation system essential for hosting traveling exhibitions.

“We are incredibly grateful to Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle and Huntsville City Council members, who support the investment in preserving the museum’s collection,” Executive Director Christopher Madkour said. “The upgraded HVAC system will allow us to continue bringing high-quality exhibits to the North Alabama community.”…
